Chinese Beauty Scroll Painting – Silk Wall Art – Golden Background Moon

If Chinese beauty scroll painting is your thing, this silk hanging scroll will feel familiar at once: moon, rocks, and trees. Seasoned buyers of oriental beauty wall decor will recognize the practiced hand at once. The eye travels the tall format the way a walk uphill reveals one view after another.

Chinese viewers would read the scene at a glance: a full moon hanging in the sky, and the scenery holds its own quiet poetry. It is meticulous gongbi detail in rich color that carries the detail, while balanced, harmonious tones carry the light. The scroll's proportions were refined over centuries to suit the human gaze at a natural distance. The balanced, harmonious tones give moon, rocks, and trees a setting that feels both natural and composed.

Above a fireplace mantel, the vertical line balances the horizontal below. It also makes a thoughtful gift for anyone who loves Chinese art.
