Landscape Chinese Scroll Painting – Silk Wall Art – Blue-Green Water

The silk of this Chinese landscape scroll painting carries mountain, a rock, mist, water, and trees, handled throughout with a mineral blue-green palette. It has the unhurried quality collectors prize in Chinese mountain landscape wall decor: a wall piece for years, not a season. Stand back and the composition settles; step closer and the brushwork starts telling its own story.

Chinese viewers would read the scene at a glance: layered mountains receding into the haze, and drifting mist softening the distance. The color work is all mineral blues and greens, laid on over a mineral blue-green palette with a steady hand. The silk ground lends every color a depth that keeps the piece interesting for years. Mineral blues and greens dominate the scene, but small accents keep mountain from getting lost.

It is equally at home in an apartment or a larger house — scale is on its side. For the newly engaged, it is a wish for a beautiful shared home.
