Landscape Chinese Scroll Painting – Silk Wall Art – Ducks Sunrise

Collectors of Chinese landscape scroll painting will recognize the format immediately — silk scroll, mountain, waterfall, sunrise, cranes, birds, ducks, and trees, rich, full color. This is the kind of shanshui silk wall art that changes a room without shouting about it. The tall silk format suits the subject; mountain gets the room it deserves.

Chinese viewers would read the scene at a glance: a waterfall dropping in a pale thread, and layered mountains receding into the haze. Throughout, rich, harmonious color shape the atmosphere, and the brush never overworks a passage. The tall, narrow shape suits modern walls as well as it suited the old studios. The rich, harmonious color give mountain, waterfall, and sunrise a setting that feels both natural and composed.

Morning light wakes the colors up beautifully — an east-facing wall is ideal. For the friend who has everything, a silk scroll is rarely the expected gift.
