Landscape Chinese Scroll Painting – Silk Wall Art – Qinglu Blue-Green

Painted on silk in the classic vertical hanging-scroll format, this Chinese landscape scroll painting presents mountain, waterfall, pine trees, and birds. It sits comfortably within the traditional shanshui painting tradition while keeping its own character. Ink and color share the silk in easy balance, the way the old studio painters liked it.

The symbolism runs deep: a waterfall dropping in a pale thread, while layered mountains receding into the haze. The subject takes its form from the qinglu blue-green manner; its feeling comes from mineral blues and greens. Silk painting demands a decisive brush; hesitant strokes show immediately. The balance between mountain, waterfall, and pine trees and the surrounding mineral blues and greens feels exactly right. Mountain, done in the qinglu blue-green manner, is the passage collectors will return to.

It hangs well beside bookshelves — ink and paper keep good company. It is personal without being presumptuous — a rare combination in gifts.
